The Most Important Organ in the Body – The Heart
To me, the most important organ in our body is the heart. Without it pumping blood to our brain, our brain stops. So how does the heart work? The heart is about the size of your fist and it pumps oxygen-rich blood throughout our bodies. This amazing organ pumps 100,000 times per day, pumping 5 to 6 quarts of blood per minute or about 2,000 gallons per day.
In our next blog, we will follow a drop of blood through the heart.
